We are pleased to welcome you to a new year at Accotink Unitarian Universalist Church (AUUC)! We have some exciting things planned for this year, including:

  • Coming of Age Trip over Spring Break 2019 (Parent meeting on 9/16 at 9am)
  • Our Whole Lives courses for 4-6th grade and 7-9th grade in early 2019

10/14   Family Open House and Orientation & Brunch (Rooms 114 & 121, 11:30-12:30)

Welcome to our annual Family Open House and Orientation. Meet fellow families and our RE staff: Lara Profitt and Ali Mills. If you have burning questions about what your child does while you attend church, then this is the time to ask them. We will have simultaneous presentations of children’s and youth RE material at 11:30 and 12 (by Lara and Vanessa).

10/20   Adult Mental Health First Aid Training (Saturday 8 am-5 pm)

We are hosting the first Mental Health First Aid certification course at Accotink where you will

learn: common warning signs, risk factors for mental health problems, and a 5-step action plan and resources for helping someone in crisis. The cost is $35 which covers the course, lunch, snacks, and drinks.

10/27   Annual AUUC Auction (Saturday, 3-7 pm)

This is a fun event for all ages and it is the biggest fundraiser to support the church. Donation link: www.auctria.com/auction/AUUC2018  Donate in September, Dance in October!

10/28   Sacred Wheel Service & Halloween Parade for UNICEF (No RE/Nursery ONLY)

Come in costume to celebrate Samhain with Sacred Wheel during this special All-Ages Service. Children and youth will march through the congregation to collect money for UNICEF, after which they head downstairs for activities. 

10/28   Weekend Meal Packing with No Child Goes Hungry (11:30 am -12:30 pm)

Join the congregation to pack weekend meal-packs for a local elementary school.

11/18   Burke Crop Walk (Sunday, 2-4 pm @ offsite location)

Annual Burke CROP Walk to fight hunger. Families can raise money and awareness to fight hunger next door and around the world.
