Honest, accurate information about sexuality changes lives.

Our Whole Lives (OWL) is an comprehensive sexuality education curriculum created by the UUA to educate children, youth, and adults about the spectrum of sexuality: physical, emotional, and social.

At AUUC, we offer OWL for four different age groups: Grades K/1, Grades 4&5, Jr. High Youth (Grades 7-8), and High School Youth (Grades 9-12).

9th to 12th Grade Class Coming in February

Do you have a 9th-12th grader who was unable to finish OWL due to the pandemic, or a youth who still needs to take the OWL class? We are planning to offer the Our Whole Lives (OWL) sexuality education program in February!

OWL is a sexuality education program for youth that models and teaches caring, compassion, respect, and justice. Unlike many other sexuality curricula currently available, this program is comprehensive and progressive. In an inclusive and developmentally appropriate manner, it addresses sensitive topics that are typically excluded from school-based sex education courses. Although the curriculum was developed by the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ, it is completely secular and free of specific religious doctrine or reference. However, the underlying values of the program reflect the justice-oriented traditions of both denominations

Please fill out the OWL interest form at https://tinyurl.com/OWLinterest so we can plan our upcoming program.

Dates:

  • January: student and parent orientations
  • February to May/June: OWL class

Fees:  $100 for AUUC members, $150 for participants outside AUUC

Class is free for those whose Jr. OWL class was interrupted by the pandemic; however donations to the OWL program will gladly be accepted to ensure that we have trained facilitators for our OWL program.

Covid-19 Precautions: Please note all facilitators and participants should be fully vaccinated before in person classes begin and masks will be required.

Please reach out to the DSD Ali Mills at [email protected] with any questions. For more information please refer to the national website at https://www.uua.org/re/owl
