The AUUC Sanctuary was again filled with busy packers as we worked together to fill 140 meal packs for our 35 children at Halley Elementary children identified as experiencing food insecurity. Thank you to everyone who donated the food items and who helped assemble.
Our next meal pack assembly will be Sunday, Dec. 15, and we’ll be needing the 10 specific food items. Some of us like to bring the same item(s) each month. Others enjoy variety. Whatever your preference, please consider bringing a six-pack of any of the 10 items needed for our meal packs. It helps with our planning when you use SignUp Genius to let us know ahead what food items you wish to donate by SIGNING UP HERE. Then drop off your food donations in the specially marked black bins located in the “Collection Closet” by Sunday, December 15.
For more details about our No Child Goes Hungry/Accotink program including a handy AUUC Meal Pack Food List you can carry to the grocery store.
Meal pack assembly Sundays continue through 2025: 1/26, 2/23, 3/16, 4/27, and 5/18.
This food justice community program is sponsored by the Social Justice Committee and our Children and Youth Spiritual Development Committee. Thanks for your support!
