Our Whole Lives (Lifespan Sexuality Education)

Honest, accurate information about sexuality changes lives. It dismantles stereotypes and assumptions, builds self-acceptance and self-esteem, fosters healthy relationships, improves decision making, and has the potential to save lives. For these rea

sons and more, we are proud to offer Our Whole Lives (OWL), a comprehensive, lifespan sexuality education curriculum. 

At AUUC, we offer OWL for four different age groups: Grades K-1, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-9, and Grades 10-12. For the 2026-27 church year, we plan to offer Grades 7-9 (October 2026 – March 2027) and Grades K-1 (April – June 2027). OWL requires a parent orientation (and sometimes a child orientation as well) which is usually the month prior to the group starting, a signed parent/guardian permission form, and payment (in order to train additional facilitators).

OWL facilitators receive 35 hours of training for either K-1/4-6 or 7-9/10-12 before they are certified to be with an Our Whole Lives participants group. Some of our facilitators have been trained for both levels because they are so invested in this program! Children and youth who were initially nervous or uncomfortable with the topics have come back and said how valuable it was to them. Parents and guardians appreciate the resources offered, the emails from facilitators, and the occasional homework that leads to increased conversations between adults and children/youth at home.
