OAR: Opportunities, Alternatives & Resources:
Breaking the Cycle of Crime

Our February Outreach organization is O.A.R.  This local non-profit restorative justice organization has provided opportunities, alternatives, and resources for court-involved individuals and their families in Fairfax, Loudon, and Prince William Counties since 1971. The organization’s main focuses are Alternative Sentencing Programs, Reentry, and Family Services.  O.A.R. offers individuals diversion alternatives, such as community service for nonviolent misdemeanors. Those returning to the community after an incarceration can find support in securing appropriate services, employment, and housing. Their loved ones can join a family support group. More information about O.A.R. is available at: OARNOVA.org

You can donate online through the AUUC website anytime during February; Click “Donate,” then check “Monthly Outreach Offerings.” Or you may mail a check to AUUC; make checks payable to AUUC with “Outreach” in the memo line. Outreach collections are sponsored by the Social Justice Committee.
