Do your children have books they’re no longer reading and are ready to give away? Please consider donating new or gently used children’s books for Halley Elementary students in Preschool through 6th grade. Halley’s reading specialist will be sending books home with many students to read and enjoy over the summer and to help “grow” the children’s home libraries.
This year, our books will be given to the 35 children receiving meal packs plus another 13 students supported by another church. Over half the children are in grades 4-6; 11 students are in grades 1-3, and 10 students are in Preschool & Kindergarten, about evenly split between boys and girls in each age group.
Please drop off books by Sunday, May 11th in the specially marked bin in the church collection closet area.
Our book collection is another way AUUC is involving our children and youth in our partnership with Halley Elementary School and deepening this special relationship. Thank you from our Social Justice Committee.
