Way to go Accotink! There were 22 folks with the AUUC group at the HANDS OFF Protest last Saturday in D.C. Additionally at least 15 congregants were either at the DC protest with others or at a different HANDS OFF protest. So good showing from our church! Way to stand up for justice.
Several more large protests are planned for Saturday, April 19th and Saturday, May 3rd. Details are emerging. The 50501 group is billing April 19th as a “Nationwide Anti-Trump Protest,” noting that the goal of 3.5% of the U.S. population participating is the threshold for “sustained resistance in order to make a difference.” So to increase our numbers, please bring along one of your friends. AUUC‘s Accotink Take Action will again have groups going, much like this past Saturday. As more specifics are available, we will inform folks through the advocacy group mailing list. If you are not on this list, please contact us to sign up. We can’t wait to see you there with us! Accotink shows up!
Capitol Hill Faithful Witness Wednesday continues at noon on April 16th. Please let us know if you would like to join us. These are always uplifting and in a smaller group.
There is much to do if you are not able to go to D.C. on the date of protests. Here is the link to a write-up of specifics of what folks can do from home. Resist: What To Do at Home Much for everyone to do. If you find this helpful, please feel free to share it with others. As a country, we need everyone doing what they can to succeed.
